Through drawing, I trace an internal dialogue shaped by grief. Woven through the work are fragments of personal journal entries of dreams and inner reflections, alongside contemplations of Irish mythology, cultural identity, and inherited history.
 
Duality is central to my practice. The selection of source material and arrangement of compositional elements emerge instinctively, while the drawing process unfolds through meticulous, labour-intensive, acts of observation and investigation.
 
This process is a ritual of devotion, intended to honour the subject matter and source material to which I feel deeply tethered.
 
The work develops through a close, sustained engagement with photographic source material drawn from spaces steeped in collective memory, including personal family archives, the Eileen Hickey Irish Republican History Museum, The Barras Market, and The Viktor Wynd Museum of Curiosities.
